Alright , metronome that marks time & beat at a selected rate. If you don't have metronome , you can download it here . Ok now play the metronome. Set it in low tempo, around 48 bpm (beat per minute) is good for starting. Measure or count 8 beat with metronome, feel  it from the heart and tap your feet . Picking exercise: Hold your pick properly. Then down stroke on the  open 6th string  Second stroke is upstroke , play n count it with metronome, continue this through the hole sequence I mean 8 beat . Then go to the 5 th string.
